Out with Arman

I know the title of this entry is "Out with Arman", but I started the day playing with the kids at home before heading out. The kids love getting tickled.

Playing with the Kids

Melur didn't want to come along. She wanted to stay home with Mommy. Daddy wanted to get a hair cut. And since Arman's hair was getting rather long as well, we thought we might make a day of it. And so we set out together to find a barber on this warm Sunday afternoon. I hope they're open.

We took the #17 bus to Kitsilano and made it to Nick's Barber Shop. Unfortunately... it was closed. Aww... Daddy decided to walk down Broadway and maybe find another barber that's open. And we stopped by Tim Horton's on the way. Arman was very excited about that.

There was another barber on Broadway called Magic Cuts. It was a little expensive, so we decided to try another place. We got on the bus and headed back to West Point Grey, which is on the way back home actually. We found a place called Great Clips, and decided to give it a shot.

The Aftermath

You guessed it! Arman refused to get his hair cut. So Daddy was the only one with the short hair. That's okay. Maybe next time. Daddy may just have to cut Arman's hair himself (I think Mommy's a bit scared about that). We'll see how that goes.

After the hair cut, we head 3 blocks north to the West Point Grey Park. It was a pretty big park, comparable to, maybe even larger than, the park at Kitsilano Community Center. Daddy let Arman loose on the slides and whatever else was there.

Well... after about half an hour at the park, we headed home. Arman was pretty happy, despite having a slight cough. We definitely have to bring Melur here next time. Maybe next weekend.

True Confections

Today, we went to a cake house called True Confections to mingle with Mommy's college friends.

Mommy mingling

Look at Mommy go. The kids had fun though. The cake was exquisite. Seeing as we just had dinner at McDonald's (we didn't have time to cook a full-fledge dinner), we opted to share a slice of cake, a very expensive slice of cake (CAD$11 with tip). It was really good though.

New Furniture

We got some new furniture yesterday. Our garage sale hunting proved successful. We got a futon sofa bed and a larger dining table for CAD65. Not a bad deal. I took some pictures of the new dining table in the morning, before heading to work. You see Arman lying down on the floor, being 'manja' as usual...

Arman in the Dining Area

When Daddy got home, Daddy took some pictures of the new futon sofa bed. So if any of you guys wanna come over, you'll have a bed, and not just a floor. Anybody wanna come over. It's quite comfy...

Laundry Day

This is a short entry. Wednesdays are Daddy's day to come home early, prepare dinner and do the laundry. On this particular Wednesday, Daddy had to go to the Commons Block to top-up the smart card with cash for the laundry. Melur followed on her bike.

That's all. Here's a final picture of Melur...

Victoria Day

It's Monday, and it's a holiday! Victoria day is a statutory holiday here in British Columbia. We start off the day with a hearty breakfast.

Breakfast of Champions

We got the kids ready after breakfast. Daddy's planning a day out with the kids.

Kids Getting Ready

We went to the Dollar Store and then to Safeway. On the way back, we stopped at the park outside Staples. It was such a nice day, especially compared to yesterday. The kids had some cookies, and played in this area filled with little stones. I simply enjoyed the peace and sunshine.

Sunshine at the Park

After enjoying the sun, we headed back home. We bought a little paint set at the Dollar Store. Melur was very excited to start painting. We had Arman participate too.

Arman Painting

Arman kept laying the paint in the middle. It turns out to be this one tone of dark blue. Below are the finished products: Melur's is on the left, and Arman's is on the right.

That's all for today. Stay tuned for more...

Home Again

It rained today, so we spent most of the day at home...

It's Raining Outside...

We lazed around the house watching TV. Mommy made tuna sandwiches for lunch. You see Melur having hers at the dinner table.

Just at home

It's the end of the semester, and a lot of people are moving out. Seeing as our house is still quite bare (without much furniture, especially the living room), we sought to get some second hand stuff at garage sales around campus. We headed out in the rain in search of cheap stuff.

Out in the Rain...

When we got home, we hung around the TV again. Hahahaa... We're all in our bare living room, just hanging out.

Family Hanging Out...

Here are some pictures of Arman watching his favorite TV show, "Go, Diego Go", which is a show about Diego the Animal Rescuer. Diego is Dora's cousin, if you know the other show, "Dora the Explorer". Anyway, Arman can really focus of TV nowadays. He used to not understand the concept.

Later in the day, it was time for Daddy to get some groceries. Melur wanted to stay home with Mommy. So it's Daddy and Arman again, together to Safeway. You see Arman wearing Daddy's hat in the rain. He prefers it to his jacket hood.

That's all for today. As usual, this blog is just an excuse to put of pictures of our kids. I hope you guys are enjoying it!
