Urquhart Castle Ruins

Today, we made our way up to Loch Ness. We were already warned about the 3-hour journey, it being long and all. But we braved it. We didn't come up to Scotland for a week, and not visit the fabled Loch Ness. And the drive there was certainly longer than 3 hours. We took a scenic route through the south end of the Loch. We stopped at Urquhart Castle, on the shores of Loch Ness, to take pictures and embrace the scenery.

We took a LOT of pictures. Unfortunately, I don't think we can show them all in this blog. It's a REALLY nice place, highly recommended. There wasn't a tour, not that I could see. But the weather was nice, and plenty of rooms and areas to explore. The label the separate areas, so you kinda get a feeling where you are in the whole scheme of things.

We followed the north side back through Inverness, which is a lot faster. And we stopped at this quaint little town called Dunkeld. It's literally just a cross street, but it has a river, a bridge, and cute little shop houses. It was already quite late (though still bright in the summer), so we snacked on some Fish and Chips. Yummy!!!

And that was the end of another day in Scotland. So far, it's been REALLY great, and relaxing! We managed one family photo for the day.
